Cursing is impolite. It should be banned.

Depends on how you mean banned and what words. Techincally, words like d**n and hell are just a natural part of a Euro's vocab- mine included. Same with the word 'arse' and 'bloody'/'bleeding'.

Are you a Yank? (Me-talk for American). Just curious, as that would explain a lot of things.

No, no, no...I said a Yank, which is what I call Americans. Most Americans these days are very self-concious about cursing, while Europeans such as myself (I live in Ireland) are just perfectly fine with it. I think I'm the only Euro on here...but yeah, that's just where I stand. I do agree that excessive cursing is wrong- such as every other word or sentance including a curse word or using the "F" word at all- I don't like that word too much; the "b" word is alright if it's used to describe a dog, but otherwise, no. d**n and Hell are fine- as they're actually written in historical documents everywhere. As for others, well, no. Just don't ban it completely, is my stand.

I feel that cursing is someone's choice. If they wish to do it let them. They are only showing how low their vocabulary really is. I myself agree with Sarentegra on this. Certain words have been around since the olden days and are just part of the language. ((For your info I'm a yank ^__^)) Yes some words should be banned but don't ban the ones that actually are part of our language.

While we are on this topic, if there are any words that anyone would like me to add to the censored list, please send me a message including the word to censor along with what you prefer it say in place of the word. Thank you.

I'm rather partial to the words d**n and Hell, so I'd be rather crestfallen if they were banned. And I hate substituting. That just ruins the whole thing. So...yeah. Why did you bring this up anyway? Have you been offended recently or something?

Excuse me for being a complete moron, but I'm pretty sure I voted that I thought yes, they should be banned. Accidentally. I'm sorry, but my vote goes to No. I don't thik there should be massive cursing, but I don't see what wrong with bloody, arse, d**n, and the like.

I think that they should be banned. I don't know why I think that but I do. I think nobody should be able to use those words.

I think it should be banned as well. In my opinion cussing is just a bad way to express your opinion. Surely there are other, more appropriate, words you can use to express how you feel.

I'm not sure really if you should ban it or keep it. Maybe it is sort of a good way of telling people how you feel. I sometimes say d**n and damit and stuff like that but I dont write them all down I just put stars in the middle of the words.
Cool I'm also from the United Kingdom. ;D

For me it depends on what cursing includes. I really don't consider words like d**n and hell really really profane, because, as Liam pointed out, they're used quite frequently on both sides of the pond, and they're in plenty of innocuous sources (i.e., PG movies, children's literature, the Bible etc.).
in regards to the F/B words all the time, no.
Does ''crap'' count? I didn't think so.
As for the nationality thing, I'm a Yank as well, but of Irish descent two generations back(I don't have a twangy George W. accent, either).
