Welcome to Charms Class
Introduction
Welcome to Charms class. I will be teaching you all about Charms this year. I know I know, I am the Headmaster. Well, whilst in this classroom, I would prefer you call me Professor Cameron, not Headmaster. Thank you. Now then, here you will learn all about Charms. Easy enough right? Well it depends. I am not a mean teacher on purpose but I can be mean if need be. If you do not disrupt my class, you will not be punished. I am sure that if you behave well then all of you will have a wonderful time is this classroom. Thank you.
Supplies
The following list of supplies needs to be brought to this classroom everyday. There will be other items in the future that you will need to bring on special occasions but I will notify you of that beforehand.
Textbooks:
Leaving My Classroom
You may only leave my classroom to go to three places. These consist of the bathroom, the Hospital Wing, or to another teacher.
You may only leave this classroom to go to the bathroom once a day, twice a week total. No exceptions.
There may be a few accidents that will happen in this classroom. It happens every year. If an accident really needs the Hospital Wing, than the you may go to the Hospital Wing. Otherwise, no leaving. No exceptions.
If another teacher needs to see you during my class than you may go to them only if they tell me, in person, that they will need you beforehand. No exceptions.
Homework
Homework should be PM'd to me with the subject as "Charms Homework Lesson (number here)" but the quotations aren't necessary. The message should include your name and year along with the numbered answers. As of now, you do not have to write out the questions but bad behavior may sway my decision. Homework must be turned in by 1 week from the lesson. That means if the lesson was given on Friday, you must have the homework in by the next Friday because that is when I will grade it. I may grade all homework in the morning or in the evening so I wouldn't play your luck, just get it in by the 6th day.
Late Grades
If you turn in an assignment one day late, there will be a 20 point deduction from the final grade I give you. The second day will be the 20 points plus another 10. The third day will be the 20, 10, and another 10 points off leaving you with the highest possible grade of a 60. After the third day, I will not accept the assignment anymore.
Missed Assignments
If you are absent either in the Hospital Wing or had an absense that was cleared, than it is your resposability to come to me and see what you have missed. I will only give you assignments that we have covered in class, you will need to get any notes we take from another student.
If you fail to come to me to get what you have missed after a week, you will recieve a '0' for all missing assignments. No exceptions.
Assignments and Grading
Grading:
I will be grading you using the regular system that is used in most muggle schools. I feel that you might like to learn this so that is what I am going to use.
A:100-90, B:80-89, C:75-79, and D:70-74 are passing grades.
F:69 and under, is failing.
I will also give out extra credits throughout the year.
You must have maintained an average of D or higher to pass onto the next year.
I will occasionally give out In-Class Assignments.
In-class assignments consist of anything that I give you in class and these assignments will be completed and turned in before class ends.
I will give out homework once a week.
Homework is to be done on your own free time but if we finish early, I will give you time to work on homework. You will not work on Charms homework in another teacher's class unless they give you permission. Homework is to be PM'ed to me before the due date and not to be posted anywhere on these forums unless told to do so.
Homework makes up 25% of your final grade.
I will give two projects a year but I am not saying when yet. You will be told, in advance, when the project is due and what the projects is.
Projects make up 25% of your final grade.
There will be a final during the last week of the term. The final will consist of everything we learned throughout the entire year.
Your final is 50% of your final grade.
Tutorials
Everyday that I do not have a class, you are allowed to come into my classroom. During tutorials, you can make up assignments, discuss your grade or another topic with myself, or finish homework that has not yet been turned in. This tutorial time is an off period for me and it is a priviledge not a right. So you will not fool around at any point during tutorials or you won't be returning.
